TCJ assessment
A Barolo that genuinely moved me. The 2015 combines remarkable precision with an abundance of pure red fruit, accompanied by roses and the mineral character that defines great Barolo. Despite a decade from the vintage, there is still an unmistakable sense of youth and energy.
The palate has depth without losing finesse. Fruit remains vivid and clearly defined, while the structure provides the framework for a wine that still has considerable life ahead. Everything feels finely aligned, with freshness and precision carrying the wine through a long and composed expression.
La Serra is a special vineyard in La Morra, and Mirko Martini delivers a particularly compelling interpretation here. The combination of purity, floral character, minerality and longevity gives the wine a clear sense of place. A serious Barolo with both emotion and precision, already impressive today but with much more still to come.
