TCJ assessment

An excellent white, immediately defined by its unctuous texture and considerable concentration of fruit. There is real volume on the palate, followed by impressive persistence.

Made by Alvar de Dios from Doña Blanca vines planted in 1920, El Maderal comes from old vineyards on clay-limestone soils with iron influence. The wine is fermented without the addition of exogenous yeasts and spends 12 months in oak barrels, providing important context for the depth and texture found in the wine.

Despite the concentration, the wine remains composed and complete. The fruit has intensity, but it is the combination of texture and length that stands out most. A substantial white with excellent persistence and a clear sense of identity.
