Concentrated and composed, with greater balance than Numanthia, although the oak remains slightly more pronounced than ideal.

TCJ assessment

A more composed and balanced expression than Numanthia, with considerable concentration but a greater sense of integration on the palate. The structure is substantial, yet the different elements work together with more precision.

Termanthia sits at the top of Bodega Numanthia’s range and is produced from very old Tinta de Toro vines. The concentration associated with this old-vine material is central to the identity of the wine, while extended maturation in oak contributes significantly to its structure and style.

There is depth and balance here, but the oak remains slightly more apparent than I would ideally like, preventing the wine from feeling completely seamless. Even so, the overall composition is convincing, with enough fruit and structure to support its powerful character.
