TCJ assessment

A white of considerable personality, combining concentration of fruit, tension and substantial structure. Several elements are pronounced at the same time, yet the wine manages to bring them together with impressive balance.

Nelin is the white wine of Clos Mogador, the Priorat estate created by René Barbier. Built around traditional Mediterranean white varieties, it offers another perspective on a region more commonly associated with powerful reds. The combination of varieties and the Priorat origin provide useful context for the wine’s breadth and structural character.

There is already complexity and depth, but the wine still feels far from its final stage. The tension running through the palate suggests considerable potential for further development. I would give it another five years in bottle to allow these different elements to integrate further.
