TCJ assessment

A remarkable sweet wine, produced only in selected vintages when conditions allow the development of botrytis. The 2007 shows considerable complexity, with honey at the center of the aromatic profile and a particularly distinctive note of saffron adding another dimension.

What makes the wine especially compelling is its balance. The sweetness and concentration are met by pronounced acidity, preventing the wine from becoming heavy and maintaining definition throughout the palate. Age has brought complexity without removing that underlying freshness.

The saffron character becomes increasingly evident as the wine develops, joining the honeyed notes in a profile that is both mature and remarkably individual. One of the great surprises among Italian sweet wines, with complexity, freshness and balance working together exceptionally well.
