TCJ assessment

A remarkably elegant expression of Priorat, combining carbonic maceration and whole-cluster character with an unusual sense of fluidity. Rather than concentration or power defining the wine, there is movement, freshness and precision.

Els Escurçons comes from one of Mas Martinet’s distinctive vineyard sites, planted at high elevation on the slopes above Gratallops. Garnacha is at the center of the wine, while the approach to vinification helps explain its departure from the richer, more powerful image historically associated with Priorat.

That contrast is what makes the wine particularly compelling. There is personality and complexity, but also an effortless quality to the palate. A unique interpretation of Priorat, defined by elegance and fluidity rather than weight, and one of the most distinctive wines of the tasting.
