Character

Textured and tense, with the structure and depth of a more ambitious white Burgundy and oak still apparent in its youth.

TCJ assessment

A regional Bourgogne Blanc with a structure that recalls Meursault. There is considerably more texture and depth than its appellation might suggest, supported by tension that gives the wine definition and length.

Domaine Berlancourt produces wines with a style built for longevity, and this 2022 still feels very young. The oak remains apparent at this stage, sitting alongside the fruit rather than being fully integrated, while the palate already shows the texture and structure needed for further development.

This is a wine I would rather cellar than drink today. Another five years should allow the oak to integrate further and the different elements to come together, revealing more of the potential already evident underneath.
