TCJ assessment

A concentrated and expressive Bierzo, with fruit taking the central role from the beginning. There is generosity on the palate, but the wine maintains enough balance and definition to remain fluid.

Pétalos is produced by Descendientes de J. Palacios, the Bierzo project of Ricardo Pérez Palacios and Álvaro Palacios. Built predominantly around Mencía, it provides an accessible introduction to the identity of the region and to the style of the estate, while retaining a clear sense of origin.

That combination is precisely what makes Pétalos particularly convincing. It delivers concentration, fruit and regional character without demanding the commitment of the estate’s more ambitious bottlings. A very good expression of Bierzo and particularly strong value within the region.
