Review · Chablis
Domaine Laroche
Les Blanchots 2022

Pure and distinctly saline, with the breadth and ripe fruit expected from the warm 2022 vintage. The palate showed excellent texture, but without sacrificing the precision and freshness that keep the wine firmly connected to Chablis.
The fruit was generous and well defined, supported by balanced acidity and a clear mineral line. Despite the solar character of the year, the wine retained its regional identity rather than becoming overly broad or heavy.
Still markedly young, it finished with excellent persistence and a sense of depth that should become more complete with evolution.
Les Blanchots has a southeast exposure and soils containing white, green and blue clays over Kimmeridgian limestone. Domaine Laroche owns approximately one-third of the climat.
