**TCJ assessment**

An impressive sparkling wine, particularly for the tension and freshness it retains after such an extended period on the lees. Yeast, bread and brioche are clearly present, adding layers of complexity without taking away from the wine’s energy.

Celler Batlle is one of Gramona’s long-aged sparkling wines, produced in Penedès from Xarel·lo and Macabeo. Extended ageing on the lees is fundamental to its identity and provides important context for the developed autolytic character found in the wine. Despite that long maturation, the palate remains remarkably alive.

That balance between maturity and freshness is what makes the wine exceptional. The autolytic notes are pronounced but beautifully integrated, while tension gives the palate direction and persistence. A wine with the elegance and composure to stand alongside the great sparkling wines of the world.
