**TCJ assessment**

A fuller expression of Douro white, with ripe fruit immediately setting the tone. There is noticeable volume on the palate, but it is the texture that gives the wine much of its character, creating a rounded and generous profile.

Planalto is produced by Casa Ferreirinha from a broad collection of traditional Douro white varieties, including Arinto, Códega do Larinho, Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Moscatel, Rabigato and Viosinho. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, an approach that provides useful context for a wine built around fruit while retaining its regional identity.

The ripe fruit and additional weight make this a more substantial style, but the different elements remain balanced. Texture is the defining feature here, giving the wine enough presence without making it unnecessarily heavy.
