**TCJ assessment**

An impressive Aalto, immediately defined by an extraordinary concentration of fruit. Yet concentration alone does not explain the wine. There is remarkable fluidity on the palate, allowing substantial structure and intensity to coexist without making the wine feel heavy.

Aalto was founded by Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini with a focus on Tempranillo from selected old vineyards across Ribera del Duero. The fruit comes from different villages and sites within the denomination, an approach that seeks complexity through the combination of distinct vineyard origins rather than the expression of a single parcel. That background provides important context for the depth and structural complexity found in the wine.

The 2023 feels particularly complete, with fruit, structure and movement working together exceptionally well. There is considerable complexity already, but also enough energy and structure to suggest a long evolution ahead. One of the finest vintages of Aalto I have tasted and a wine with significant life still in front of it.
